The Wishing Well
Ever since she moved to the town a year ago, Isabelle has been the only child in the small mountain village where she lives with her grandfather in the late 1800s. Her grandfather believes it was because of a wish gone wrong. Isabelle is lonely and longs for nothing more than friendship when suddenly, mysteriously, a new girl arrives in town. Stricken with polio and unable to play, she arrives with her doting father, her harsh governess, and loving servants.
Grandfather has forbidden Isabelle from ever going near the village wishing well, protected by a keeper who also holds the village s deep secrets. But Isabelle, anxious to find a way to play with the new arrival, innocently wonders if the wishing well could heal her friend s crippled legs. Heeding neither her grandfather nor the well keeper who explains the rules that must be followed, Isabelle makes her wish but quickly realizes her mistake. Can Isabelle now find a way to undo her fateful wish?
