The stage is a bare area with a bench. An elderly sweeper observes interactions between a middle-aged woman, a young woman, and a young man, who are each acting out characters and a plot that are developing in the mind of the Writer," who intermittently appears, notebook in hand, to discuss modifications. Stated by the author (in 1979) to be suitable for Festival presentation, this play contains lengthy soliloquies from each of the characters.
