Jane Eyre Life At Lowood
Jane Eyre is one of literature's most compelling heroines. This one act focuses on hr difficult youth as an orphan left with uncaring relatives who eventually send her to Lowood - a poor boarding school run by Mr Brocklehurst. He imposes an overbearing morality while doing nothing about the terrible conditions that take a horrible toll on some but build a strength and deep conviction in young Jane. Her experience is ultimately one of triumph and prepares her for her future as a governess. She forms lifelong friendships, including one with the tragic Helen Burns and the inspiring teacher, Miss Temple.
There are many wonderful roles for women, and the Lowood students can number as many as you like.
