Here is highly theatrical, yet easy-to-stage adaptation of the classic legend of Sleepy Hollow. All the eerie spookiness remains in Washington Irving s famous story of the haunted town in upstate New York. Trimmed of much of the chattiness of longer adaptations, this one-act version still retains all the essential story elements and characters, including Katrina, Brom Bones, and several school children and townspeople.

The story flows smoothly and quickly with players who seamlessly perform as characters in the story, as Greek-chorus style narrators, and as crew members shifting the scene while the story unfolds. Even the climactic scene with the Headless Horseman is kept both manageable and appropriately frightening!
