The Canterville Ghost
This fast paced and funny adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic short story runs for about an hour without intermission. It is the tale of an American family who move into a very old English country manor house complete with furniture, housekeeper and ghost. Everyone takes the apparitions and pranks of Sir Simon (the Canterville ghost) with astounding good humour. So good, in fact that Sir Simon has to explain to all of them that one does not laugh at ghosts. Everyone is so charmed by the resident shade that the twins offer to help him haunt the third floor, father offers to shake his hand, and Virginia bravely pleads with the Angel of Death for his pardon so that he may finally rest.
