The Medicine Man
Sagamore wanders into the desert hotel owned and managed by his wife Aggie whom he deserted several years ago. Aggie thrashes him with a broom and Sagamore sulks out of the house. When news arrives that rich and powerful Seor Vega is searching for a doctor to cure his daughter of a rare illness, Sagamore decides to pass himself off as a doctor and collect a few easy bucks. The suspicious Vega gives him an ultimatum - cure the girl or hang from the nearest tree. Community theatres, universities, and high schools have found this to be a well-plotted, hilarious play loosely based on one of the world's funniest comedies - Moliere's THE DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF.
