Oxford 1915 Tom Eliot was a shy American graduate He met Vivienne Haigh-Wood and confessed he was bewitched by her class and her vivacious intelligence Together they plunged into a disaster-strewn marriage out of which came TS Eliot's famous poem 'The Waste Land' Tom and Viv is an epic play of emotion which starts with hasty love and ends after 32 years in a social tragedy of cruel betrayal.
It has been described as one of the great plays of the late 20th century.
