Our House
May's husband Ted, a retired miner, has died, so May is moving out of the house they shared for 50 years and going to live in Spain. Through a series of flashbacks, we share May's memories, from the early days of their marriage and their son Jack's childhood, through to Jack's graduation from teaching college, the miners' strikes and the more recent past of Ted's decline in health. During the last few years in their house, the couple are harassed and abused by their neighbours, the chaotic Les, Sonja and their family. Jack, now highly successful and absent, returns to help with the move and finally shows some loyalty to his mother and his home by finding a buyer for the house who will give the neighbours from hell their comeuppance.
