Curtains
Your audience will explode with laughter at this Bullets Over Broadway nod with lots of over-the-top characters and fantastic stage action played for laughs.
Sneaky Charlie Leach and his new bride, Cheri, have a week to pay off mobster Tony Tenor and his flowery accomplices or the final curtain will fall on poor Charlie. So the newlyweds use honeymoon money as down payment on an old theatre that Charlie secretly plans to blow up for the insurance settlement. There s just one caveat: they can only get a policy by staging a production. The show must go on!
Fortunately for Charlie, Cheri s cousin Isabella is looking for a stage. Unfortunately, it s for an artsy adaptation of Frankenstein with an almost all-female cast. And when the actor playing Frankenstein s monster suffers a sudden stage accident, clueless Charlie is brought on as the understudy!
But Charlie s no actor. He s also hysterical because he told the demolition expert the wrong time! He wanted the building to be empty when it went boom, but he realizes now it will be packed for the Saturday premiere! Charlie transforms into a monster with a heart and breaks character to warn everyone to get out of the theatre, including Tony Tenor, who has front-row seats to the disaster!
