When Grandpappy Galore leaves behind a cattle ranch without cattle, granddaughters Giggles and Lucky turn the place into a dude ranch complete with wranglers who can teach the city slicker guests some line-dancing and a cook with a penchant for burning biscuits. After booking their five cabins for the weekend, dreams of adding more amenities on forty acres of ranch to the north seem within reach. But neighboring rival rancher Amos Slattery vehemently disagrees. He threatens to take that North Forty one way or another, claiming that he won it from Grandpappy in a poker game.

Amos slinks off as the guests arrive a mother looking for quiet time with her daughters, five fab British women seeking adventure, a sweet granny traveling alone, and a pair of smitten newlyweds. But when one of the newlyweds is found dead in an armchair and the other disappears, ham-fisted Sheriff Hannah Hammer arrives and tries to have Deputy Slim arrest everyone! It s only when the killer tries to strike again that a pair of uninvited ghosts er, guests, shows up and saves the day!
