Dandelion is a family musical based on the children's book by Don Freeman. Dandelion, a shy, awkward lion, is faced with middle-school angst when he's invited to Jennifer Giraffe's impromptu party for his homeroom. He decides that if he goes, he will need to reinvent himself to impress her. Meanwhile, his friends, Pippa Parrot and Zippy Zebra, have their own adolescent hang-ups about attending the party. His mean, showoff cousin Roscoe, who has not been invited, finds out about the party. Dandelion ultimately gets up his courage to go. He buys a new jacket to wear over his old, ratty, yellow sweater, gets a perm for his mane and even buys roses for Jennifer. But after a series of unexpected complications, Dandelion joins his friends at the party and discovers that it's better to just be yourself.
