Spinning off the fun of the Gingerbread Man tale, a fast and curious Cornbread Kid runs away from her (or his) cornstalk parents and encounters colorful wetland creatures. From them, she learns how nature thrives through connection in the ecosystem. Cornbread Kid also learns from her new swamp friends how fortunate she is to have parents who love her. Now regretful that she ran away, Cornbread Kid would love to be back home with her parents. But she had better run fast to escape the Hungry Man, who threatens to eat her! Good thing she has her new friends to help her get back to the cornfield!
